Pre-Owned 2020 Gibson Custom Shop 1964 ES-335 Vintage Sunburst With OHSC

Used And Vintage

For those looking for the vintage look, feel, and tones from an incredible historic reissue, here's this Gibson Custom Shop 1964 ES-335 in Vintage Sunburst, a truly incredible guitar.  This one hails from 2020 and has been kept in great shape.

This Historic Reissue ES-335 is the pinnacle of Gibson Custom Shop guitar that was crafted after studying, scanning, and listening to the original examples. The Gibson Custom Shop painstakingly rendered every contour, profile, inlay and color of the priceless vintage models with exceptional precision. This 1964 Reissue gives you all the features that have made the originals legendary guitars.

This instrument is composed of a 3-ply Maple/Poplar/Maple semi-hollow body with a maple block. This gives you plenty of warm acoustic resonance but also is quite feedback resistant for heavier gain settings.  The body features a historic Sunburst that is quite different and bit more red than its modern counterparts. The nitrocelloluse VOS high gloss finish is not only striking but also allows the body to breathe and open up over time.  The single-ply Royalite binding it completes the iconic look.

The set mahogany neck is joined with a long tenon, hide glue fit that provides maximum transfer of vibration is also bound and comes with a '64 Medium C that is accurate to the feel of the originals. It comes with an Indian rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets and small block cellulose nitrate inlays. Just like the originals it has a nylon nut, Gibson name and crest inlay. Stay in tune with its Kluson Deluxe tuners.

The heart of this reissue is its pair of Custombucker Alnico 3 humbuckers. These pickups deliver full, rich tones that are warm yet articulate. Whether its clean jazz chords, blistering blues licks, or higher gain searing leads these humbuckers deliver the goods. You'll find an array of sounds with ease with its individual volume and tone controls for each pickup and 3-way selector.

This historic reissue brings you all the classic hardware. With its ABR-1 tune-o-matic bridge with nylon saddles, and stopbar tailpiece you get impeccable sustain and intonation. It is flush with 1964 style with its black 5-ply wide bevel pickguard, gold top hats knobs with silver inserts, and authentic stepped 2-ply truss rod cover.

A Gibson Custom Shop build is like no other, and this 1964 ES-335 stands out as a great example of amazing craftsmanship.  Whether you'rehttps://www.youtube.com/shorts/oERUBRygBPw a collector or player or both this is an instrument that honors the rich legacy of the ES-335 with one of its most iconic years.

The guitar has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.  It's in excellent condition and comes with its original hardshell case.  You've scored right here.
