Used 2021 Fender Custom Shop 1958 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic Mary Kaye Blonde with OHSC

Used And Vintage

We got a lot of amazing Fender Custom Shop guitars in here, but occassionally one appears that just makes us smile.  That's the case with this 1958 Stratocaster, sporting a customized Journeyman Relic finish and the complete Mary Kaye treatment - blonde with gold hardware.  Built in 2021, it's like new, as the previous owner barely played it before trading it in for a different Strat.  So, now it's available again, on a great deal.

Everything is original, with the case, Certificate of Authenticity and everything else.  The techs in our shop have set it up to play perfectly and it's ready for its next home.

Ever since the Stratocaster came out in 1954, players everywhere have been drawn to the sound, feel and look of this legendary model.  Over the years, it evolved in many ways, but for many, it's all about the 50's era Strat.  And for some, the 1958 edition is "the one".  Why?  This Custom Shop '58 Strat right here might answer that.

The alder body is super lightweight and will fit snugly against your body.  This guitar is a great weight - just 7.4 lbs.  The lacquer finish with moderate checking, in Mary Kaye Blonde, gives it a classic, old-school Fender vibe.  The Journeyman Relic finish package was chosen to give it the look & feel of a vintage Strat that has been thoroughly used, but not abused.  The specs call for light wear without heavy abuse or finish worn off.  We love how it turned out.

The other main calling card of this Stratocaster is the rock solid Quartersawn Maple neck.  While what you'll often see out there is more about showing off flame or birdseye maple, this one has a simpler approach.  It has a 57 Style Soft "V" neck shape, which is very comfortable....it's still a vintage carve but isn't too thick, and easy to grip.  Spec notes called for rolled fingerboard edges, resulting a sublime feeling neck.  You get period correct specs, including the radius and frets.  The goal is to have a "true" late 50's Strat experience with the neck, and this guitar nails that.

Custom Shop 50's Strat pickups give you the classic chime with enough sizzle to cut through the mix.  Fender has worked hard to craft these pickups to faithfully recreate the cutting tones reminiscent of 50's era Strat.  Alnico 5 magnets, vintage stagger and formvar wire add to the authentic sound.  If you want the most classic of Strat tones, this is it right here.  The modern tweak is the inclusion of a 5-way switch.

Of course, this Stratocaster is meant to have the Mary Kaye aesthetic, so it has gold hardware to complete the look.  Other features include a 1-ply parchement pickguard,  vintage tuners and bridge, and a wing string tree.  Comes with Custom Shop case, strap and certificate of authenticity.

The Custom Shop absolutely knocked it out of the park.  You can see, feel and hear for yourself by coming to Truetone Music, or by ordering right here to be shipped to your home.
